Ananke Projects

About us

An independent cultural initiative dedicated to curatorial practice, publishing, visual culture and community art projects. Ananke Projects creates spaces for ideas, stories and creative practices to encounter one another. We are interested in what culture preserves, what it forgets, what remains unfinished, and what becomes possible when we look again.

What we do

01

Curating

We develop exhibitions and cultural projects that create encounters between artworks, people, histories and ideas.

Exhibitions
02

Publishing

Through Ananke Editions, we create independent publications that give space to emerging voices, experimental practices and ideas that might otherwise remain at the margins.

03

Community

We create participatory projects that bring people into cultural conversations: not simply as audiences, but as contributors to them.

Featured publication

Interstice

A Journal of Unfinished Ideas and Emergent Practice

A publication devoted to the fragments, experiments, drafts and unfinished thoughts that exist between an idea and what it eventually becomes.

Issue I, 2026 — unfinished poems, abandoned images, sketches, marginalia, visual traces and works still searching for their final form.

  1. 01

    Curatorial

We see curating as an act of framing, questioning and creating relationships.

  2. 02

    Independent

We value experimentation, intellectual curiosity and the freedom to pursue ideas across institutional boundaries.

  3. 03

    Contextual

We believe cultural work should be attentive to the histories, places and communities from which it emerges.

  4. 04

    Collaborative

We believe meaningful cultural projects are rarely made alone.

  5. 05

    Emergent

We leave room for uncertainty, experimentation and things that have not yet found their final form.

Nothing living was ever meant to be complete. Perhaps the process alone is always enough.
